A Year of Living Positively-Day 332

I was awakened by a strong odor of cigarette smoke around five o’clock and did not sleep more after that. After that, and aware that my schedule is a little crowded this week I have been a bit on edge all day. Also, all the work around the KOTESOL stuff has caused some strain.
I felt yucky and kind of out of it all day, though students said I looked good today. I lay down after dinner but I do not want to sleep too early. Anyway, the hood fan in the apartment below me has been running for a couple of hours straight, which only brought the odor of cooking pork straight up here, so rest would be disturbed.
I had to go in search of a birthday present today, for I agreed to attend a friend’s birthday party out of town on the weekend. I really don’t know what to get him, but I must get something decent. It’s his 50, and I should get something fitting. After hunting at a department store, and losing my sense of direction, I came back empty handed so I bought a small box of chocolates from a nice bakery to get me started.
I really should use our free day tomorrow to continue the search, and pay for my phone time. I want to get some exercise, and I agreed to do a short hike in our local mountain with a couple of the women in this residence, but I have half a mind to change my plan because the short hike will still take up half a day, whereas the gym routine would take a couple of hours.
I’ll see how it goes in the morning. I am sure I’ll feel better. Actually, I got a lot done today regardless. I was able to plan for the grad course during the conversation classes while the students worked on a project.
Ah, that darn fan finally stopped.
