A Year of Living Positively - Day 157

I had a conversation with a colleague today, and it turns out that the midterm evaluations have been set at a new scale of four points rather than five as they had previously been. That means that the student evaluation scores of my classes were pretty good, with one perfect score at 4.0, and another at 3.98.

Perhaps the survey questions have been changed, too, but I am not sure about that. It does seem to me that there are fewer questions on the survey.

The cuckoo birds have been cuckoo-ing each morning for the past week or so. It is always amusing and enjoyable to me when I here them. They can only be heard for about a month from the end of May through June, though. Being rarely heard, it makes it more special. One hardly ever catches a glimpse of a cuckoo bird, too, because they are solitary and very shy.

Cuckoos are seen by some people as being pests. That is because they take over the nests of other birds and hatch they young for the ousted couple. Strange, no? I guess that explains the low population of cuckoo birds, and implies why the word "cuckoo" came to mean crazy.
