My boss asked me if I intended to renew my contract. I said, “Yes,” but that is only my present intention and not my decided plan. Anyway, the message only asked a question; it did not make an offer. It is a casual survey. Other colleagues were asked this same question. What happened to the formal procedure with a form that they have always asked us to complete before? Actually, I should have replied with, “Are you offering me a contract?” I should be getting a raise as this is my fifth year with this employer, so I’d like to see the contract. I feel bummed out that I am saying “yes” because I would prefer to change jobs. There is no further word from that headhunter in Japan, by the way, and no replies other than some acknowledgments to my numerous other applications.
It was nice to have a free morning with time for a good workout. I went to the gym and returned before preparing for work.
I felt a cold or something coming on. I had a dry and scratchy throat with a bit of phlegm by the evening. I hope it goes away fast.
