It is Saturday late in the afternoon and I am in my campus office. I am getting hungry. I just noticed that it is already five-thirty. I have been here since around three o'clock.
After another busy long day that finished late, I was so wound up that I was not sleepy last night. That was so ironic because I had felt drowsy for most of the day on Friday.
I came here especially because I needed to use the printer and scanner. That is because there I needed to take care of another little hitch in my efforts to complete the payment on my land. I have been corresponding with the lawyer's office in Canada and we are in synch. The problem is the banking. This morning, I went to get the last payment transferred from an account in Canada but found the transfer blocked by my bank branch. I phoned the bank hotline, and we eventually were lucky enough to find an official in just before closing time on a Friday in British Columbia. We explored the situation and came up with a plan that requires me sending a letter of direction to the bank authority. To use email and send it right away, I came to campus to type it up, then print it to sign it off properly before scanning the signed document for it to be attached to an email message back to the bank in BC. I also scanned some identification documents and sent them off.
That done, I used my time here to finish marking the composition assignments. Today, my head was clearer despite another short night of sleep. I could make better sense of what the students had written. Though I anticipated to come across a lot of direct copying of the master text, I found that most students made efforts to rephrase the document from which they were working. They successfully identified and implemented the key points of a biographical account, though they were very weak at writing topic sentences, including an intro and conclusion. Overall, I think they were successful, because a summarizing of the master text was the main task.
Now I am hungry and in need of relaxation. I must chill out and get a decent night's sleep. I get a free day tomorrow, for I have taken care of most of the important weekend tasks today. I even called my brother around midday today.
