A Year of Living Positively-Day 247

I think I heard the heaviest rain I have ever heard in my life early this morning. It may have awakened me. I woke up before six, though I think I slept a little bit more after that.

By mid-morning, I decided to make the trip to the department store instead of going to the gym. I got there and found the stuff that I had been looking for. Since I had not eaten at all so far that morning, I went into the food court and had some cold noodles and a donut for brunch after paying for the groceries. (I first just ordered the noodles and received a huge bowlful, but my stomach was anxious for more fuel, and getting a donut, as naughty as it was, was the most expedient option there at the moment.)

The weather reports that the storms of this week are finally retreating. In fact, the forecast for tomorrow is “partly sunny and delightful”. Ha! I have never seen delightful ascribed to a meteorological report or forecast before. Though not all days can be sunny, my philosophy from the positive thinking angle is that every day can be at least “partly delightful.”

Before going out, I started cooking the peach compote. I hesitated because peeling a dozen peaches is a lot of work. Actually, there are two nectarines in the lot; throwing them into the pot with the peaches was bound to make for a more interesting flavor. I lacked a lemon, though, which is a marvelous flavor enhancer. I picked up lemons while I was out so that I could add lemon juice to the mixture later and finish cooking the compote with the addition of lemon. The product is extra juicy, so I extracted a mug full of juice. It is really delicious juice!

Now I am at home and feel sleepy. I could get the workout done later today, but leaving it to Friday will not matter. I know I should study too, which also could be done tomorrow just as well. I have my “eco-friendly” toilet paper now, and that’s the important thing!
