A Year of Living Positively-Day 226

I did not expect this day to be so full, but it was and now I am a bit worn out. I just had the extra Korean class tonight, and I really had to cram to prepare for it, since we just had the last lesson last night.

I was delayed in preparing for the class because I met the student “niece” at long last. She is okay. We went for ice cream and caught up. I only counseled her a little, but she is so intense and conflicted about life course decisions like relationships. At least she is seing someone again and her rapport with her family members is all right.

Though she has a tendency to be withdrawn and aloof, she needs intimacy. She does not hug, but she confides in me. Once we get talking, she wants to stay near me. I took her to see my apartment, and we had a beverage up on the balcony for awhile. With just two hours to have dinner and prepare for the class, I told her I could not extend the visit but invited her to call on me another time. She must go back to her hometown to care for pets in her parents; absence for two weeks.

Once again, I am too tired to contribute much to my own discussion here today.
