A Year of Living Positively-Day 212

Good day. 

My arms a little tired because I am stepping up the weight presses during my exercise routine. The main reason I jumped into the gym this season is because I found I was getting crepe-skin, old lady's arms. That is why I am doing arm and shoulder exercises while I am cycling on the cycling machine as well as weight machines and even hand-held weights for the arm curls and triceps movements. As this is my third week, I have been able to increase the weight I am pressing.

Perhaps the slight fatigue is also because I went to a supermarket in another neighbourhood to do grocery shopping and carried two full bags on foot back to my place. I would normally take that kind of trip on an alternate day when I am not going to the gym in order to conserve energy for the gym. I felt like being more active today, and needed to get out more. I got a few errands done.

I have also increased the levels on other equipment. For example, I am incorporating some jogging into the routine. I usually start out with cycling then, more often than during the first two weeks, go to the treadmill for a 20-minute walking and jogging routine. As another example, I have increased the number of crunches for the  abdominal and lower back areas, as well as the crunches for the diaphragm. From around 20 of each type, for a total of 40, I am now doing 30 of each for a total of 60. 

I got impatient with being in the house this afternoon, so I went to my office on campus wearing my shorts and t-shirt to work for a while before entering the campus gym. The development of that graduate TESOL program course was on my mind. Having already searched some reading material with which to build the course content, I went back to look them over more carefully and make notes. In fact, I have started to build a syllabus. It feels satisfying to have gotten that far.

I just had a delicious squash and spicy smoked turkey stir-fry. I used my brand new cutting board and chopping knife to make it. Now I am starting to feel drowsy, although it is only around seven-forty-five now, and I had a full seven hours of sleep last night.
