A Year of Living Positively-Day 188

It has been another lazy day. I had a good deep sleep for about nine hours. I did go out to do some shopping, mostly for food, but most places around here were closed today, even the big department store two neighborhoods away. I walked around and found two food stores open, so I brought home a load.

I have been wanting to visit B but she was out with another friend today. No word from Y.

I called a brother as usual. The sister-in-law is ill again.

I had to put my mind to KOTESOL business. We should have a couple of meetings before we have a break in August. There is the July members’ meeting to take care of, and the September members’ meeting to plan. The July meeting will be the first one for which I have been responsible for setting the program.

Other than that, I have been content to laze around the pad. I guess my body and mind want the rest. I am going with the flow. Of course, I am on a low budget since I just had a holiday away, and I will not get paid until the end of this week. Actually, it seems normal for me to go through a phase of resting around the end of the semester, when I can. I usually have to charge right into the summer session and camps teaching, though. It is different this summer.

It was very noisy in the morning. First thing this morning, just after seven o’clock, workers began by tossing pipes around for awhile, making quite a big clanging sound. Those workers did not seem to do much after having fun with the pipes so I cannot understand why they had to start the work so early.

There are renovations to three houses and a store under way and a small apartment building is being completed. So much for the prospects for a peaceful summer around here. I guess I may have to hang out on campus to write and stuff. I do plan to see how the campus gym is as of this week (If I tell you that enough times, I’ll have to trek up the hill and do it! ;)
