A Year of Living Positively -Day 78

I came to campus today, a Sunday, because I agreed to work on another lengthy translation and it is easier to do it here considering the status of my equipment at home. It was the content for the website of a marine industry engineering institution. It was easier to read and edit than the last one, I'm glad to say, and it only took me a little over two hours to complete the job and earn over $100 for it.

It's very quiet here and it appears hardly anyone is working on campus today. It's a good time to get concentrated work done for that reason.

Early last week, I had been thinking that I had not had much work for translation in a while, but then I got these assignments later this week. That is not the only coincidence that I have observed in my life recently. I had been feeling a tad lonely after moving to this area when, out of the blue, C sent me the invitation for the yesterday's outing, and P informed me that the new staffer in our team is a single middle aged Canadian from my home region who lives on my floor in the apartment building.

I slipped a note under that person's apartment door this morning as I was leaving to come to campus. I plan to hold a little party, perhaps with wine and cheese, one evening so as to have all the colleagues who share the same residence get acquainted with each other. I think I'll offer to do it on the evening of Friday, the 14th, and we'll see what happens.

One of my bros sent me word that the housing market is improving for buyers in that prices of condos up the valley beyond the BC Lower Mainland are coming down. That favourable for me as a prospective buyer, but not for the bros who took over my father's condo in that region and want to sell it.

I think I am done here. Maybe I'll see whether any neighbourhood hair salon is open today because I'd like my hair cut to be better shaped with thinning and feathering. The last cut only a couple of weeks ago was not done well.

Other than that, there is more laundry to do. I managed to get one load done because B came and showed me how to do it on Friday evening. She recommends I set up my curtains, by the way. Right now, I have thrown the green and white striped curtains over a coat rack and positions the rack in front of the window so as to have some privacy. I need to hang proper curtains properly, but I'm not sure I want to use the same ones and I'm not yet sure how best to do it. Anyway, I don't feel like tackling that particular problem today.

I have been sleeping well despite the lack of window coverings. I wear a blindfold, you see.
